Speaker:
Katrina Limond
Katrina is a Solicitor Advocate in the International Arbitration and Public International Law team, acting for both corporate and State clients in cross-border investment treaty and commercial arbitrations. Her experience spans proceedings under the LCIA, ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, CIArb, LMAA and SIAC rules across Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. She also has experience in English Court litigation, including arbitration-related proceedings before the Commercial Court and the Supreme Court.
Her practice focuses on complex disputes and public international law matters, with particular experience in the life sciences and consumer healthcare, telecommunications, intellectual property, technology, and energy sectors. She regularly advises States and multinational corporations on issues including sovereign immunity, attribution, and maritime boundaries.
Katrina is recognised as a Future Leader in Arbitration by Lexology Index, a Rising Star for Public International Law by Legal 500, and Best Lawyers’ One to Watch for International Arbitration. A frequent speaker and author on arbitration, artificial intelligence, technology, intellectual property, and public international law, she is also an active member of the international arbitration community through organisations including YIAG, Young ICCA, and the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum. She is a native English speaker and is also fluent in French.
Dr. Gordon Blanke
Dr. Blanke is the Founding Principal of Blanke Arbitration and one of the most recognised names in international arbitration today. With over 80 arbitrations as Chairman, Sole Arbitrator, and Co-arbitrator under ICC, LCIA, SCC, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, and UNCITRAL rules — and a practice spanning the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia — he brings rare depth and global perspective to the table.
He is a consistent Global Leader in Who’s Who Legal Arbitration, named one of the Most in Demand Arbitrators in the UAE by Chambers & Partners Global every year from 2022 to 2026, and recommended in both the Lexology Index and Legal 500 Private Practice Arbitration Powerlist – Middle East Region.
Beyond his practice, Dr. Blanke is the author of the leading English-language commentary on UAE arbitration law and teaches International Energy Dispute Resolution at the LL.M in Business Law programme at the Dubai campus of Université Saint Joseph.
As AI reshapes how contracts are formed, decisions are made, and disputes arise, practitioners like Dr. Blanke — who have navigated complex commercial and cross-border disputes across aviation, banking, IT, telecoms, and more — are exactly the voices this conversation needs.
